The Team Members
Gloryrose Dy Metilla
Principal ArchitectShe earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of the Philippines in Mindanao in 2009, receiving the Best Thesis Award and later the Red Point National Thesis Award. In 2018, she completed the Design Summer School at Tongji University in Shanghai and obtained a Master’s in Urban and Cultural Heritage from the Melbourne School of Design, University of Melbourne, with an Australia Awards Scholarship. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Management at the University of Mindanao. Her professional roles include serving as President of the United Architects of the Philippines North Davao Chapter (2015-2016), Balangkasan Chair for Area D (2016), Editor for the UAP Journal (2019-2020), and being a member of ICOMOS and the International Committee on Vernacular Architecture. She has worked as a technical officer for TAO Pilipinas Inc., a Design Officer for SM Engineering and Design, and in heritage architecture in Melbourne and China. Currently, she is the principal architect at Swito Designs Inc., focusing on cultural sensitivity and urban heritage, with ongoing projects for various government and international organizations. She also represents Eastern Mindanao on the National Commission for Architecture and Allied Arts of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
Jenelle Metilla
Junior ArchitectJenelle Metilla is a registered and licensed architect with a solid educational background and a rich professional experience. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the Technological Institute of the Philippines, where she developed the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in architecture. Jenelle has gained valuable experience working on a variety of projects with Swito Designs. Her work includes designing public markets, which are essential community spaces that serve a wide range of needs. She has also been involved in designing seaport facilities, which are crucial for transportation and trade. Additionally, Jenelle has contributed to the design of the Capitol, a significant project that often involves intricate planning and attention to detail. Throughout her career, Jenelle Metilla has demonstrated her ability to handle diverse architectural projects and her commitment to creating functional and appealing designs.
Larielyn Balacuit
Executive AssistantLarielyn Balacuit is a dedicated professional with an ongoing Bachelor of Science in Psychology Major, which has provided her with a strong understanding of human behavior and interpersonal dynamics. She has a deep passion for human resource management, where she applies her psychological insights to improve workplace environments and support employee development. In her career, Larielyn has gained valuable experience working as an office administrator for Swito Corp and Swito Designs. In this role, she managed various administrative tasks and contributed to the smooth operation of the office, honing her organizational and communication skills. Beyond her professional interests, Larielyn is also enthusiastic about art and anime movies.
